Pharmacy Technician
Location: 1414 Cambridge Street Cambridge, MA 02139
Salary Range: $18-$21 hourly
Shifts: Days, Evenings, and Weekends, full and part-time positions available
About Us: Inman Pharmacy is an independently owned and operated pharmacy located in Cambridge, MA. We have been an important part of keeping the communities of Cambridge and Somerville healthy for over 80 years. We are a team of dedicated health professionals, whose goal is to provide our community with ways to stay healthy and improve their wellbeing. We accomplish this by offering a range of immunizations, providing services to improve medication adherence, recommending over-the-counter products and being engaged with these communities. Roles and Responsibilities
Assist the pharmacist in filling prescriptions and requesting refills from providers
Assist with day to day pharmacy operations including inventory management, medication adherence calls, scheduling vaccine appointments, scheduling medication deliveries, restocking necessary pharmacy supplies
Engage with patients and their caregivers in a compassionate and empathetic manner
Follow all applicable Federal, State and Local laws and regulations, as well as, all company policies and procedures
Maintain patient confidentiality
Respect patients, caregivers, healthcare providers, and other Inman team members
Assist Pharmacy Managers and Staff Pharmacists in developing and maintaining strong and productive relationships with local providers and other community health leaders
Complete special assignments and other tasks assigned by management
Responsible for operating the pharmacy filling software and the point of sale software
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Must be at least 18 years of age
Must be of good moral character and not been convicted of a drug-related felony
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
Must have completed a pharmacy technician training program
Must be licensed as a technician with the Massachusetts Board of Pharmacy
Must be proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English
Ability to perform basic math skills to accurately fill prescriptions (calculate day supply, counting, measuring, etc)
Preferred Skills
Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
National Certification from an accredited pharmacy technician certification program approved by specific state regulation (e.g. PTCB, ExCPT, etc)
Good computer skills (ability to type, use Microsoft products, and learn our computer systems)
